Overview

Splashtop’s remote printing feature allows you to print documents from a remote computer directly to a printer connected to your local computer. This guide walks you through the prerequisites and step-by-step setup process.

Prerequisites (Local Computer)

Before starting, make sure your local computer (the one you are sitting at) has the following:

Adobe Reader

Download and install
Adobe Acrobat Reader

Set it as your default PDF viewer.

XPS Viewer

Open Settings → search for “Optional features”.

Click View features.

In the list, search for XPS Viewer.

Select it, then click Add to install.

Connecting to the Remote Computer

Log in to your NinjaOne dashboard by visiting https://cascadeits.rmmservice.com/.

Locate and select your organization.

Click the device (computer) you wish to connect to.

In the top-left corner of the device page, click the Splashtop icon.

If this is your first time, you’ll be prompted to download Splashtop for RMM.

Click Download for Windows and install it.

Once installed, click the Splashtop icon again to start the remote session.

Setting Up Remote Printing (on the Remote Computer)

While connected to the remote machine, click Start and search for Splashtop.

Open the Splashtop application.

Go to Settings → Install Printer Driver.

Once the driver installation is complete, restart the remote computer.

Reconnect using Splashtop once the restart is finished.

Printing Remotely

On the remote computer, open the document you wish to print.

Choose Splashtop Remote Printer from the list of available printers.

Click Print.

The print job will be sent to your local computer.

On your local computer, a print dialog will appear—select your desired local printer.

Click Print to complete the job.

That’s It!

You’ve successfully printed a document remotely using Splashtop. The file is securely transferred from the remote system to your local machine for printing through your own printer.
