How to Add and Remove a Device in NinjaOne
Purpose
This article provides step-by-step instructions for technicians on how to add a new device to NinjaOne and how to remove an existing device from the platform.
Adding a Device to NinjaOne
Follow the steps below to generate and deploy a NinjaOne installer for a new device.
Generate the Installer

Log in to NinjaOne.

In the top-right corner, click the plus (+) icon.

- From the dropdown, click Device.
- From the next dropdown, click Computer.

Select Organization & Options
When prompted, select the organization the device should belong to.

Leave the default Device Location as Main Office.

Leave the Device Role set to Auto.

Create the Installer

Click Generate Installer in the bottom-right of the window.

After the installer is generated, you will have two deployment options:

Deployment Option 1: Send Installer Link

Click Copy Link.

Send this link to the end user.

When they click the link, the installer will automatically download and begin installation on their device.
Deployment Option 2: Use a USB Installer

Click Download Installer.

Save the installer to a USB flash drive.

Plug the USB into the device you want to add and run the installer manually.
Removing a Device From NinjaOne
- Use the following steps to properly remove a device, which also triggers a silent uninstall of the NinjaOne Endpoint agent.
Select the Device

In NinjaOne, navigate to the organization and find the device you want to remove.

Click on the device name.
Initiate Removal

In the top-right corner, click Edit.
- Click Delete Device.
Confirm Deletion

Enter your email address when prompted.

Click Delete again to confirm.
- NinjaOne will then silently uninstall the Ninja for Endpoint agent from the device and remove it from the organization.
